A series of Poson celebration programs at the Divulapitiya Divisional Secretariat

To mark this year's Poson Poya, a number of religious and cultural programs were held at the Divulapitiya Divisional Secretariat premises under the patronage of the Divisional Secretary, Mrs. W.W.M.D. Kumari.

A soup Dansala organized by the Social Services Division of the Divulapitiya Divisional Office, Swashatki, an organization comprised of people with disabilities/special needs, was held in front of the Divisional Secretariat premises on June 06, 2025. "Furthermore, alms, precepts, meditation programs, Poson lantern   competitions, and many religious and cultural programs were held for them at the Priyadarshanaramaya Temple in Pinnakele."

A Poson devotional program organized by the Buddhist Affairs Division of the Divulapitiya Divisional Secretariat was held on 09 June 2025 at the Divisional Secretariat with the participation of the office staff.

Venerable Dorawe Gnanarathana Thero, Honorary Secretary of the Divulapitiya Shasanarakshaka Bala Mandala, and Venerable Kaluaggala Saranasiri Thero, Buddhist Affairs Coordinator of the Minuwangoda Divisional Secretariat, participated in these programs. 

Development Needs

       DEVELOPMENT NEEDS IN DIVULAPITIYA

1. Cultivation of canals, anicuts, barren paddy fields tractor leaps, by the Agrarian Services Authority,
2. Existing roads to be further developed in Grama Niladhari Divisions. (Sidewalls, with culverts)
3. Implementing environment sustainable development projects to create an eco-friendly area.
4. Implementation of school development projects implemented by the Regional Engineering and Zonal Education Director authorities.
5. Intervention by the Department of Wildlife to minimize wildlife damage to projects related to livelihood development of the people in the area.
6. Implementation of Livelihood Development Projects and Seva Piyas Construction Projects implemented by the Divisional Secretariat.
